About L'ARCHET Concert Group

Welcome to the 2016/17 Season of L’ARCHET Concert Group, and especially our Cohen Hall Series at East Stroudsburg University. During the past season at Cohen Hall our audiences have expressed extraordinary enthusiasm for L’ARCHET’s performers and concerts--and we are just getting started.

A brilliant opening event will be delivered by The American Classical Orchestra on September 17th at 7:30 PM in Cohen Hall performing Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons.” The ACO, led by Thomas Crawford, is unquestionably the foremost Early Music ensemble in New York City and, in my own opinion, in America.

Meanwhile, Pianist Eugene Albulescu brings his power and brilliance to a Recital Series of three concerts devoted to “The Romantic Piano.” Music from Chopin and Liszt to Brahms and Mussorgsky will resound in Cohen Hall on Three Sunday Afternoons October 30, 2016, March 19, 2017 and May 14, 2017.

Violinist Kurt Nikkanen, Concertmaster of the New York City Ballet and an internationally acclaimed soloist, will on November 12, 2016 perform sonatas by Debussy, Saint-Saens and, in a tradition inherited from great violinists of the past for their recitals, the Bruch Violin Concerto Op.26 performed with Piano Accompaniment.

On April 22, 2017 the Ulysses Quartet, recent Grand Prize Winners in the celebrated Fischoff Competition, will present music by Haydn, Brahms and a new Quartet by American Composer David Williams. For the Brahms F Minor Quintet Op. 34 the Ulysses will be joined by Stephen Whale, Piano.

Please feel free to write to me or call me personally. We at L’ARCHET are eager to hear about your thoughts and interests.
